Blue Mounds on a Spring Day With 7 Heroes

7 Heroes drove up the mother-ship of hilly terrain in these parts, Wisconsin. We pulled into our base of operations Hero style. Pay no attention to the Cervelo. We left that 55 tooth monster in the dust.

Its a long way up to Wisconsin and some of the boys were changing out of their civilian clothes so we had to kick it at Uphill Grind which is our LBS when we are in Wisconsin. Patrick Hero was in the cafe looking for his name in Velo News. I told him not to worry cause his name is on the Tenspeed Hero blog every day and there are a lot more readers!

The boys are cold and wondering if the sun was really going to come out. This is the day that I realized that arm warmers are like socks. They are really easy to lose and I missed them.

Todd Hero appreciated the Christo and Jean-Claude piece that the Wisconsin Park District put up on the top of the Blue Mounds. Actually he did not. He pushed over a tree when he realized there was no water. Dude be kind to the forest.

Here the boys share some laughs and look at their bikes. Some of the Half-Acre Heroes have some big races coming up so they came to sharpen their legs. Todd Hero usually goes to Mexico, drinks beer and surfs all day long before he wins races so I am not sure what he was doing here.

On top of the mounds I found this Cutting Crew, sporting a vintage XXX Jersey. He was riding around in socks. Yeah man that is hard-core. Climbing the Mounds, Looking for your buddies in Socks. That is so Hero that I am making this guy an official Hero and he has never heard of the Double Loop!

Riders: Patrick Hero, Todd Hero, Isaiah Hero, Luke Hero, Joe Hero, Matt Hero and Sean Hero.

Sounds great. My Spring training camp in Nevada City California totaled 20 miles. 20 hard miles!!! OK. Not hard. Cold though. The rest of the time was spent lamenting the rain, hail, snow and wind. I left a day early to avoid tomorrow's snow storm. Of course today was precipitation free in Nevada City.
