A great day in the Chicago suburbs for those who don't mind cold temperatures, wet roads, mud, rain, mud and wet roads. Some people might prefer a nice warm living room, a hot cup of cider and a flat screen TV, and that is okay. Fine.
But, personally, for me at least, and the other person who went on this ride, we believe life is for living.
Plus, the afternoon fare on TV leaves me flat. But I understand soap operas can be addictive, which is okay. My grandmother loved them. She called them, "My Stories."
Some riders prefer to look at the weather before they venture from the couch. Hint: If you are really interested in the weather go outside. Besides, checking the weather is like going on Competitive Cyclist and looking at the new Campy 11 speed, why bother.
We neglected to bring snacks so we stopped at the ever helpful Glen Ellyn Bike shop and bought a few Cliff Bars. Also on the menu was mud flung from the wet ground by Luke's Gold Shamal and into my moist, parted lips.

I found this video still from our October ride of the loop. It makes me want to do it Saturday and Sunday. It is going to be cold both days. I may lose my motivation but if i manage to suit up I think it will be a great way to say goodbye to the Path before the snows come.
