Father's Day

Went for a short ride along the lake when a storm hit. The storm hit hard. We were both afraid of being blown of our bikes as we battled sandblasting winds and hail on Randolph Street on our way back to the studio. We rode with one shoe disconnected just in case.

Later we did another 40 + miles on the Prairie path. We saw a lot of birds: Indigo Buntings, Common Yellow throats and a Yellow-crowned night heron.

June 9

27 miles on the lake front. We were passed by a guy in flip flops riding an 80s Trek with a milk crate filled with crap on the back. I started to catch him a few miles later but he must have heard my approach and pedaled away from me. He looked like he was on a Sunday ride. I was fighting to go 20 against a head wind and he was cruising along, enjoying the sights. I did finally catch him after a hill - the hill - and I passed him and never saw him again. I suspect he reached his turn off and was headed for home.

Back in Chicago

I think this photo speaks for itself.
