Here are a couple of kids going as slowly as they can without standing still. Someday I'll understand track racing enough to explain why.

T.O.M.R.V.

The Ten Speed Hero crew just did its first organized ride: The Tour of the Mississippi River Valley in Iowa. Some things of interest seen during the ride include gas for under $3.00 per gallon and a large number or dead animals:
Eastern Meadowlark
Robins
Baltimore oriels (six of them)
Red wing blackbird
Starling
House sparrow
Ruby-throated hummingbird
Shrew
Mouse
Vole
Fox
Raccoon
Opossum
Dog
Cotton-tail rabbits
Cats
A bat
A muskrat
Turtles
Snakes
That is all I can think of at the moment.
On our way home we went to dinner at a supper club-like place. The specials had names like, “Steak a la Paris.” Fancy. There was a salad bar with lettuce shredded fine enough to qualify for inclusion in a Taco Bell taco. The salad bar also offered pickled herring and chocolate pudding. Saturday night, after part one of the T.O.M.R.V there was a big buffet and one item of note was, “Oreo Salad.” It looked like Oreo cookies blended together. I am not sure what it tasted like.
